Now you need a good sudoku strategy if you wish to get good at solving sudoku. You will need several things, a comfortable chair, clear thoughts and a workable plan  that you can implement to solve the puzzle as fast as possible. While many people think of sudoku as a math game, nothing could be further from the truth. Sudoku is a logic puzzle and it takes logic and a working knowledge of the available sudoku strategies to become successful at it.

To begin you should start to familiarize yourself with the basic strategies like crosshatching or swordfish. Crosshatching is a technique where you determine that there is only one possible place for a particular candidate and by using it you may also find that there is only one possible location for the digit in any row or column..

The swordfish strategy is differnt than crosshatching as it  is in many ways very similar to another technique known as X-Wings, Using it will allow you to remove any candidtaes from two rows, be sure to master xwings before moving on to swordfish as by doing so it will become much easier for you to use. Unlike xwings the swordfish doesn't form a rectangle but allows you to work three rows at the same time.

I cant stress enough the importance of learning all the sudoku strategies you can before starting to seriously get into solving sudoku puzzles. They will add far more enjoyment to the game than if you try and play without studying them. with sudoku it is practice, combined with knowledge and dedication to the game that turns one from a novice into a true sudoku champ!
